Assisting and Moving of Individuals

Course overview

Practical training on safely assisting and moving service users, reducing the risk of injury to both the individual and the carer. Includes risk assessment and equipment use.

Learning outcomes

By the end of this course you will be able to:

• Apply the principles of safe people-handling
• Carry out a moving and handling risk assessment
• Use common equipment (hoists, slide sheets, transfer boards) safely
• Recognise and reduce risks of musculoskeletal injury
